Mediation When a DRB is not in place or desired, mediation provides a flexible way to keep disputes from spiraling out of control. Unlike a DRB, mediation is not limited to disputes between the owner and prime contractor. Also, a mediator does not have to keep current with the project to be of value. The parties jointly select a neutral person having construction knowledge and experience. The mediator is brought in as needed to help settle one or more disputes.
